Thomas Gailey, Managing Partner

Tom GaileyTom got a very early start in the communications business when he pulled double duty playing grade school football in Philadelphia and writing about it for the neighborhood weekly, the Southwest Globe Times. He hasn’t looked back.

He brings 25 years of marketing and communications success to Gailey Murray. Tom is a big picture thinker who is equally adept at counseling a Fortune 500 CEO and hitting the keyboard for an attention-getting press release. During his career, he has successfully managed a variety of crises, helped re-launch a self-correcting golf ball and directed communications for multi-million dollar acquisitions.

Tom was a senior vice president at Tierney Communications before co-founding GaileyMurray. He led several major accounts at the agency and was a key member of the issues and crisis management and media relations teams. He joined Tierney from the Gailey Group, LLC, a marketing communications firm he founded in 2000.

He served as vice president of communications for Suburban Cable during a period when it was one of the largest cable companies in the country. He managed internal and external affairs, including local, state and federal government relations. He also spent time in the government sector as the public information officer for Upper Merion Township.

Tom enjoyed his early brush with journalism so much he continued it after college when he was a reporter and copy editor at the Norristown Times Herald.

Tom has an MBA in Marketing from Temple University and a BA in Journalism from Penn State University.

When he’s not in the office, Tom might be found taking a run, on a field coaching one of his daughters or taking in a sporting event (such as both parts of the Phillies World Series-clinching Game 5). He also serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown and chairs the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee.

It’s your story. Tell it.
